jgit-cli software package provides Java implementation of GIT version control (command line interface), you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install jgit-cli
jgit-cli is installed in your system.
Make ensure the jgit-cli package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep jgit-cli *
You will get with jgit-cli package name, version, architecture and description in a table
